New Construction During The Pandemic
The Must-Haves
A job transfer brought Matt and Erin, their two children, and two dogs to the North Atlanta area of Georgia. They were looking for an area with affordable homes. And their "must-haves" included new construction, a nice size community with other young families, and a private backyard with woods. Ideally, they also wanted the backyard to be large enough to fenced-in for their children and dogs to spread out and play. They were looking for their dream home.
Why The Mary Ellen Vanaken Team?
"Our family decided to make a big move from Naples, Florida to Northern Georgia a while ago. It took some planning and prep, career adjustments, new home, neighborhood, school, and friends, but it has been worth it every step of the way. It was a lot to juggle, a lot to research. Which county has low taxes? Good schools? Which neighborhood fits our needs? How close were restaurants and shopping? That’s where Mary Ellen came in. Our Florida realtor connected us with Mary Ellen, and the rest was a breeze. She helped answer our questions and steer us through the buying process. While selecting a neighborhood and home was fun and exciting, the building process was full of twists and turns. Mary Ellen guided us through every step of the way. She was always accessible, meeting us at the home site, selections meeting, the final walkthrough, and at the closing. She was quick to answer our questions throughout the entire process. And we did HAVE many questions! We are thankful to have been introduced to Mary Ellen and are very grateful for her wisdom and professional expertise along the way. This has been such a GREAT move for our family - we love living in this area!"
Selecting the details
Matt and Erin were thrilled to find a new construction community in Canton, Georgia. They chose a home with a 2 story family room with a stacked stone fireplace. The kitchen included a large island, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and all with a view of the family room. The owner's retreat included an en suite with a garden tub, separate shower, double bowl vanity, and walk-in closet. Three additional bedrooms and two more full bathrooms completed the home. The couple was able to pick out many of the appliances, colors, and details that made the house their home. While the home was being built, the couple lived in a two-bedroom apartment close by which allowed them the opportunity to see the progress on the construction.
