New Haven County is a county in the south-central part of Connecticut. As of the 2020 census, the population was 864,835, making it the third-most populous county in Connecticut. Two of the state's top 5 largest cities, New Haven (3rd) and Waterbury (5th), are part of New Haven County.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 862 square miles, of which 605 square miles is land and 258 square miles is water. It is the second-largest county in Connecticut by total area.

Many believe that New Haven County is one of the best places to live in Connecticut. In New Haven County, most residents own their homes. Here you will find a lot of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in New Haven County and residents tend to lean liberal.
